Thanks I have looked at that one, and also have found RSSOwl, will try them out.
Now if I could find a way to make sites without RSS feeds work also, that would be great.
What is good to use for an older windows XP machine?
I'm just looking at and reading this now,
how is this build performed to date? Still going/running? How are the CPU temps?
Im looking to build something similiar.
After a few months, I am curious how is this system doing?
I may try to build one almost just like it.
My biggest Question for you is is that Mobo still working ok? What about the I/O shield did you not like? Is it that bad?
AVG Sucks and is Malware/Adware in my opinion. I removed it from my PC and using Malwarebtes now.
noticed better performance right away.
update: I tried Malwarebytes and removed AVG, and I am seeing much better performance!
In my opinion AVG is itself Malware and Bloatware, i would recommend not using it...
I would get a 250 or 270 series Mobo so it is ready for that Pentium chip.
or other 250 Mobos.
You dont need the 29.99 Cooler.. That Pentium comes with a decent stock cooler.
I don't see anything else wrong or that I would change. You can add/upgrade a SSD later if you can't afford it now.
Hi there, its been awhile since you posted this build, But i am wondering do you still like the case?
I am looking at getting one.
You said it has 5 pre-installed fans? So does that mean you didn't need to buy or install any? I'm guessing yes, but want to make sure.
How is the CPU holding up?
All i can say is have you tried each stick to boot with? Maybe 1 stick is not good and 1 is good. That is my only suggestion.
Maybe someone else will have an idea.
does that work well? Any risks?
only problem with the I5 is it does not have hyperthreading
Can anyone tell me what the UD3 part of this Mobo means?
TY for the reply and review, it will help me decide. :-)
im curious what is the difference between a B250 and an H270?
Not bad build!
I am looking at that Mobo for my own build, can you tell me how it is running?
Review the Mobo..
I'm curious how is this PC doing now? I am looking at that Mobo and memory.. Is that still working good?
When does Skylake end and Kabylake begin?
Im trying to save $ as well, also not going to overclock.
Any i7s that will work without updating BIOS?
I like it
Nice build, how would you rate the Mobo? I am thinking about the same or similar Gigabyte board.
Its been a little while now... how is the CPU doing? has the 8GB of memory been enough?
for SSD, just get 1 drive like this 1.. http://pcpartpicker.com/product/PMbkcf/sandisk-internal-hard-drive-sd8sn8u512g1122
and the 5400rpm HDD, you should get this 1 instead... http://pcpartpicker.com/product/MwW9TW/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex
You will save money and have better parts. :-)
As for memory, 32GB may be overkill. look for 16GB at 3000mhz or 3200mhz.
Looks good, did you already have an OS?
yeah, just saw that. like $138 for the Pro. :-(
well Thanks everyone who gave input, since Im a bit of a noob, I'm gonna stick with the 7700 locked version. Should be fast enough.
I'm worried I get the parts and then can't figure out how to put it together, or worse its built but something doesn't work. :(
Thanks for the list, a bit cheaper to build yourself.
forgot to ask was it easy to plug in the M2 drive? Any heat issues with the M2..
Im looking to get a 500GB m2-2280.
Telling by the comments so far, my build was a bit of an overkill. :/
Thanks for all the help/comments peeps have written or will write.
I like this build, I am about to buy the same Mobo.
So Im wondering is it still working well a few weeks later?
have you had any issues?
I have been looking at z270s by Gigabyte, would you have an opinion on those?
Hi, I was wondering is that M2 drive still working well? Is it maintaining its performance a few months later?
will I not have any trouble with buffering and such?
They have free versions of Win 10?
what would you recommend as a free anti-virus?
yeah, i do plan on upgrades in the future. Something called Intel Optane. Could be much faster...
i may add an 1TB HDD later on for storage or a portable SSD.
this site worked fine with Opera but cant login with the latest version of firefox.
I'm thinking an XP issue with secured connections or something.
Hopefully old news soon as I am planning on building a new system soon :-)
I want to, but I see all the power cables with the power supply and then lots of other cables for drives, etc and im worried about screwing something up.
Thanks for the suggestion on the CPU fan, I will most likely go with that. :-)
As far as the parts, I have them listed from the vendors i saw from a list, I will be buying almost everything from newegg or amazon.
It most likely will be used for stock trading platforms with some gaming.
I am looking at some of the changes you suggested, the CPU I was going to have an i7 and you have an i5. Im wondering arn't i7s better than i5s?
Im also worried about overheating if i have an overclockable chip. I dont want to have liquid cooling.
Also Im on a bit of a budget, so I choose a 6GB GPU card instead of 8GB GPU to save money, thinking the extra graphics memory won't make that much of a difference.
