I have a MSI motherboard but looks your motherboard layout looks similar. I have a m.2 with the OS and am thinking of buying a 2nd m.2. Doesnt using the 2nd m.2 slot shares bandwidth with sata (assuming only two m.2 slots on mobo) and does the GPU cover up the 2nd m.2 slot? If the GPU covers the 2nd m.2 slot will a 2280 m.2 still fit and wont be overheated by the GPU?

Thanks; I like yours, especially the mobo. Also, I don't have enough to invest in a dac now, but I usually only listen with my Audio Technica M40x (want to get M50X) and use a cheap external usb headphone adapter and gets nice, loud sound

I have the MSI z170a m7 an think the onboard audio is not too great; it is pretty quiet even at 100% volume. How does the Pro Carbon compare? Is the audio chip, voltage and audio software any different?

My build consists of a MSI Z170-A, MSI 980, and a single Samsung 950 256GB (should have gone for 512 b/c heard is faster). I assume the Asus Z170 Deluxe also has two m.2 slots and that you used them both. When taking up both the m.2 slots is your graphics card limited to x8 speed instead of x16, is that why you didn't put it on the top slot?

Yes, with my MSI Z170-a motherboard, the red would match. I currently have one of the NZXT's as intake behind the door, one NZXT as intake on the bottom of the case, and both the stock fans as exhaust (1 top and 1 rear). I don't have anything overclocked now, so am not getting high temps. I don't know if I want to add more fans as it is pretty quiet now, but I could always replace the stock fan(s).

Sorry for the late reply. I never really timed the boot or found much difference, but there is a chart online that states the Samsung 850 vs 950 boot times using Bootracer. The 950 Pro 512GB has average boot 23.56sec, 850 Pro 512GB 23.78sec, 950 Pro 256 GB 24.87sec, and 850 Pro 256GB 24.47sec. I should have gotten 850 Pro 512GB or more expensive 950 512GB.

How is the case? I like it and might get it. I understand the front door panel hides the optical drive and fans. Do you keep the door open during use and does closing it decrease airflow?
