The RTX 2060 will drop in days if you want to wait. It will be a bit cheaper than the 1070ti and proform better.

If you want to save some cash you can get a better and cheaper CPU cooler, but it does look awesome. I'd recommend a 1070ti or a 1060 6gb. This build would be a great frame killer.

Forum Topic "Upgrading my PC but worried about bottleneck"

ZaSeaDog 1 point 3 months ago

You should be fine for now, your ram (may) be holding you back more than your processor. This is because of the wide range of ddr3 speeds. If it is over 2000 speed you should be fine. If there is any bottlenecking you won't be able to feel it anyways because of how big this upgrade is but definitely get a new processor as soon as you can.

Ok well the gtx 1080 is gonna push a lot of frames so I recommend a 144hz monitor to go with it. I recommend this.

There its a bit over budget, but it's a cheap AIO so don't expect too much from it.
The ram is low for streaming, but can be upgraded.

Forum Topic "A newbie trying to build a new pc."

ZaSeaDog 2 points 5 months ago

Sorry for late response, but you will also want faster ram.

Forum Topic "A newbie trying to build a new pc."

ZaSeaDog 2 points 5 months ago

If your interested in streaming than you may want to invest in a bit more ram. The motherboards chip set dictates whether or not it can overclock. The board I picked is more than capable to push up your ram and processor speed. The 7 series from Intel is better suited for gaming, but that's not in our budget so AMD is the odious answer for saving a few bucks. Lastly the cooler can handle some overclocking. (don't push it) If you want to overclock I recommend a AIO liquid cooler.

Forum Topic "A newbie trying to build a new pc."

ZaSeaDog 2 points 5 months ago

was gonna wip up something new, but what I gave you is very good for your budget. If you want to play rise of the tomb raider you might as well have a i7-7700k at least so are future proof.

That card can play it but not max. It's not ready for AAA games.

Corsair H115i Pro:

Pros:

Seems more durable

Quiet

Cost less

Corsair will replace any broken parts if it malfunctions

5 year warrant (I think)

Cons:

I don't think it looks as nice

Fans apparently don't spin as fast (not as good for cooling)

Gen 6 asetek pump isn't all that much of an improvement

from gen 5

NZXT Kraken X62:

Pros:

Looks amazing

Better cooling performance (I'm planning to overclock my i7)

6 year warranty

Cons:

CAM (Some people say it's terrible other say it's not that

bad)

Pump failures reported to be higher

Cost more

Louder pump

Forum Topic "Need advice on my build"

ZaSeaDog 1 point 6 months ago

Ok bud - The 2 TB NVME drive is way too much you could use a 1TB or 500Gb and not break bank. - The RAM is crazy fast and overkill 3200mhz is fine for a 8700k. - You can find that card for much less. - Get a less outdated case.
