I have been busy the last few days, when I get time I will redo this version of the build
how are those headphones? Thinking of getting them
Could you recommend them?
This might have been a while ago but can I ask how are those headphones? Thinking of getting them
Could you recommend them?
Great build, one thing though, why a mini-ITX board in the Prodigy M? M for Micro-ATX
Awesome man! Love the build, noticed you had minecraft on the desktop, lol! Everyone loves a bit of minecraft sometimes! What dos do you get? Nice build!
I suppose that the Black may be a bit faster but it really doesn't matter because you have the SSD, and since they are both 7200rpm the difference won't be much. Your welcome
Looks good :)
SSD prices are falling now so smaller capacity ones like 60 and 120gb are getting cheaper, it might be worth putting one of those in this list. Or would it go over the budget? Also the non modular PSU would be a pain in the ITX case, but once again it may go over budget. Like I said, nice build, like the R9 285, don't see that too much.
It's pretty good, is the reason you have the WD Black only because it is black? Because the blue is cheaper so you save some money there, I would recommend that you get a dual channel ram kit, 2x4gb if you want 8gb, but if you have the money I would probably go up to 16gb. CPU cooler is good, but for not too much more you could get an AIO (All in one) water loop which would keep the CPU temps down and get a better overclock.
But nice build
Awesome build, more photos please
Thanks for the help, I'm on Australia so the tech price is ridiculous, I was thinking about the Skylake Pentiums but they haven't been released here yet, neither has the i3, I'm on a pretty low budget with most of it going to be spent on the drives, I can get 8Tb for $329, and I really don't have much money for the rest of the server.
Thanks, I may use this drive. I meant OCZ in general for the reviews
Nice build, +1 for using AMD, I have a question, how good is that SSD? Like speed wise? I've heard mixed reviews about OCZ but I wouldn't mind a larger capacity SSD.
Awesome build, love the carbon fibre, thinking of using the same CPU, how fast is it? Also did that cool Xeon sticker come in the box?
I'm pretty sure all Skylake motherboards have USB 3 headers. USB 3 is normal now so it is an expectation. (I also have an i7 920 PC, similar specs to your but with a HD 5770)
Does your case have a 3.25" external bay? If so http://www.amazon.ca/Kingwin-4-Port-Front-3-5-Inch-KW35-4U3/dp/B00TZFKSHG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1443926311&sr=8-2&keywords=USB+3+bay+device may do the trick for USB 3.0
As for a GPU suggestion maybe a GTX 960, or R9 380
You're going to need a motherboard also, if you want too save money get H170 as you have a locked processor.
This looks ok: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h170mpro4
Haven't used one though so I can't tell you from experience
Ok thanks, the Xeon is just until I can afford an i7 4790K, so I want the ability to switch them out and overclock it right off the bat
:( Intel dicontinued Z97 and socket 1150 as of the other day, so all the Haswell motherboards are now end of life. But other than that I like the build, and your choice of components, even if Intel ruined it for you. Lol JK
gasp It's an Intel stock cooler!
Lol jk, nice build like the case, I'm thinking of building in it.
The R9 290 is EoL in Australia
Well I have to agree with you
