I have the Gigabyte G1 GTX 970, so no worries on the backplate. :D It sags a tiny bit anyways but yeah, not nearly as bad with the backplate.

I didn't use any actual programs made for stressing graphics cards, but playing crysis 3, tomb raider, and metro LL at the absolute max settings with DSR enabled, seemed to help. Just any graphics-intensive games you have basically.

Ah, well that's good. :p I've got the same graphics card, there seemed to be some very slight coil whine when i first installed it but then i stressed the **** out of it and the whining seemed to stop. Now it's whisper quiet.

See, it's not bad by any means. It'd be excellent for a budget build. (as it was originally purchased for that very reason) I usually start seeing it struggle when i'm playing battlefield 4 on high settings with a bit of AA, it's usually at a decent frame rate but not where i'd like it to be. Also with games like Metro LL, it'll struggle if i have AA turned on with PhysX and all those goodies. It's honestly not bad, but what can i say? I'm a graphics *****. D:

Why would you spend so much on storage? You could've easily gotten a 280x had you only purchased one hard drive and no ssds.

Maybe he wants to SLI? Idk dude he just got really good deals on most of those parts. Usually that cooler is about $70-$80, and he got it for $40. And his processor, he got for $150. If i could've gotten a 4570 for that much, i probably wouldn't have a 4670k in my rig right now. Just saying.

Look at how much he paid for those components, absolutely no money was thrown out the door. Also, most games don't even use 4gb of RAM these days, but he can always get an additional 4gb or 8 if needed.

Well, just be glad i didn't call it a beast haha. It's whatever i guess, i just put it in there anyways. :p thanks though. It's pretty great to build in, ample room for long graphics cards (i think you can put in like a 13-incher) but the only thing is, there's not too terribly much room to route cables, so you've gotta really think things through. :p you're a sailor? i've got a couple brothers in the navy.

Yeah, you're probably right. The thing is though, i've heard the CX750 has some pretty questionable capacitors and it could be dangerous to overclock something with it in there.
