It was going to a show. It looks better that way and the performance trade off would've been nominal if there was one (there isn't on this particular setup since slots 1 and 3 are full PCIe x16 anyway).
Idles at 30C and goes up to around 50C under load. This is with GTX 970 at stock and i5-6600K at 4.3, nothing too crazy and being cooled by the 240mm radiator that the EK-XLC Predator uses (I believe it's equivalent to the EK-CoolStream PE?).
It's secondary to an X99 rig with 5820K, 32GB DDR4, and dual Titan X. I've tried a few VR demos on the Manta build and it performs very well for what it is. I also had watercooling hardware on hand for a Strix 970 from a previous build. :)
I'll give it a shot, but the upload kept choking on a few of my pics... (hence why I handpicked a few that worked and used an imgur link for full build album).
I tried uploading as many pictures as I could but pcpartpicker's upload kept erroring out on a few images. So I handpicked the nicer pictures with imgur link in description. I'll try again in a bit...
Edit: I gave it another shot with some shrunk down images. It might've been the size of the files I was trying to upload. It still gave errors when trying to arrange images though. :/
"Portability" and protection! Moving across country and lugging my personal rig around in an open air case doesn't feel like the best solution. Switching to the 750D at least makes it somewhat more manageable. :)
I was thinking of at least one more Titan X, but the rig itself is pretty overkill as it's currently configured, so I think I'll play the waiting game and see what comes around GTC in March (Pascal looks very promising!).
Thanks! I was considering incorporating other colors, but Red Harbinger's color scheme is mostly red and black and I wanted this to be an RH-themed build because of the pure insanity of this case.
Yeah, I totally get why people love hardline tubing and multi-gpu setups, however, that upgrade alone would cost more than some builds... I'll definitely post the upgraded build when I have the budget for it. :)
