Idle temps were around 50-53 degrees. I live in Canada so... :)
It's a 19" monitor and it fits inside of a 20" briefcase
yup should handle that no problem
I've had no issues with power, and thats swapping between 270x crossfire, 290 etc.
Thanks man, it is a beautiful case
Took a little fiddling in the BIOS, I've never OC'd before but so far it's been stable.
No real complaints, Newegg and partpicker say it has 2 PCI x16 slots, but CPU-Z says it has 1 PCI x16 and 1 PCI x4
Only the first picture had the door on.
Benchmarks are in the comments :)
Seems stable, had no issues with heat during the benchmarks, and haven't had a BSOD yet :)
Like I said, not the best build for the money, this has been a work in the making and would be quite different if i could start over with the same money.
Will do, just added pictures and more commentary
I think they're going good, I'm still looking for info on proper setup for it, settings, CCC settings etc
Exactly my thinking, and 1440x900 isn't that bad res wise anyhow.
I bought an Asus VS198D-P, working now on removing the hinges to install it.
Haven't done any streaming/editing/recording etc yet. There are better cards for that purpose if going that route.
Considered this, but I'm adding a 19" screen to make it a complete laptop
Thanks everyone for all the likes and comments, and for pushing me up to the Featured Build this week!
Not a pro either, I would like to upgrade the CPU to and 8350 and motherboard to a 990FX chipset. I think AMD are a little better for <1440p gaming vs Intel.
CPU temps are in the sidebar, along with GPU temps, and CPU and GPU clocks
Probably will be the one I will consider, looking to go to the 990FX chipset, Gigabyte board since it's black, and possibly upgrading to an FX-8350
I'm sure something similar can be found on Newegg as well.
There ya go, desk is a complete mess but when you build 2 pc's **** happens.
What setup pictures would you like?
3D Mark Results
Pump seems to be good, not loud at all. Changed out the original fan, found it to buzz at higher RPM's. Agree with the CPU, its a hell of a lot of power for what it doesn't cost.
Wish I could help more, still fairly new to overclocking :(
So adding in some benchmarks, from Unigine Valley Benchmark 1.0
Min FPS: 21.8
Max FPS: 103.7
Mode: 1920x1080 8xAA fullscreen
Preset: Extreme HD
Overclock AMD FM-6300
I followed this guide, changed the multiplier to allow for 4.5GHz, my voltage for the CPU is 1.4 and for the Northbridge it is 1.2375
Thanks for all the positive feedback, surprised this got this much hype :)
I would like a side fan but I can't bring myself to cut the window :(
Ok i'll look into that, thanks.
What other motherboard would you recommend, in roughly that price range? ~100-150, it's a budget build remember :P
Can you give me a link to where to get it?
Not really sure, looks similar yeah. But it's a nice keyboard regardless, I'd recommend it.
I began building this before the 970 was a thing. I had this since, and I got the 2 cards for dirt cheap so ye. I would love a 970 and a better cpu but I don't wanna put a whole lot more money into it if i'm not gonna get much performance gain.
Any ideas on good settings for a crossfire build?
This is as close to a viper as I'll get...
Definitely something to look into. I agree, I love the case, it is such a dream to work with. Nicely done on your own build as well!
What kind of settings do you use for the crossfire? I've toying with it and sometimes still find myself losing frames on something as simple as Borderlands 2.
