Throw a 1060 in there and she'll pull some weight for a bit longer!
The rubber mounts for the 40mm fans looks a little goofy, but I guess you don't see them as much with the tinted side panel and it's a great idea. Nice build!
I think that i7 will still keep up with a 1070 or so if you're looking for an upgrade. I love seeing these things. Great build!
I love seeing these old i7s still kicking! Nice build
That's what he's asking for in the description.
The 970 still pulls its own weight! Glad to see it still being used
Quad core processor and a 1060 3GB for over $1000?
Sure is! I went from 8350 to 4770K to 6700K because I got some good deals from friends. Just recently got the 3900X.
I used the same case for my fiance's RGB rig. Love it!
Hodgepodge spare parts are still fun to build with!
If it does what you want it to do then I say it's money well spent! Nice build
Something like this will last forever as a nice daily driver. Nice build!
Not bad at all!
It isn't bad for what it is! Overclocking to get a bit more free performance is great too. I love builds like this.
A good case that's old is still a good case! Nice build.
Better cable management than my first time!
This is a great first build! The 770 can still hold its own today and the G4560 isn't half bad.
Dang man, the best parts I gave a friend or family member is an i7 3770 and a GTX 1070. Nice build!
Love seeing things like this!
As controversial as it was, I love a nice 8350 build. Only ever struggled in games that were IPC intensive.
I'm going to be doing a similar build for an SFF server here soon. Great cable management!
Looks great! Very tempted to try it with my 3900X someday
Looks great! I can't think of a proper way of doing a "budget" custom loop that looks as good as this. How's the airflow in that case?
Great build! I love the combination of the 1200 and 570
I have the same exact 570. You might want to do some research on how to undervolt it. It's a great card with a decent cooler, but I think the stock fan curve can be a bit much. Great build!
An all black build with white lighting is exactly how I have mine set up. Great build!
Beautiful build! I can't wait to cram my 3900X into an SFF PC someday. How are temps with the 3700X?
Love a good budget setup! Great build
My Crosshair VIII Hero looks like it will be doing the exact same thing with the chipset fan and my FTW3 1080 Ti. I'm still in the process of cable managing my PC when I have time off work, but once it's finished I'll see if it's an issue. So far I've gotten my 3900X to boost up to 4.49GHz under a single core Cinebench test.
Great build! How goes the X570 Taichi motherboard? Almost picked that one for my 3900X.
Clean and purdy! There are still plenty of uses for an old i3. I gifted my friend a spare parts build with a Q9550 and GTX 670 that ran like a charm.
Z170/Z270 boards don't support Coffee Lake CPUs
Ehh, the CPU could be a bottleneck in some games. It's better than you expect, but definitely not worth going for unless you get it super cheap.
Cable management is my only criticism on the build itself. High frequency ram isn't exclusive to workstations. If you wanted to take advantage of that H100i in the future to overclock your i7, you won't be able to because that motherboard doesn't allow overclocking.
FX builds are still decent if you get them cheap. My only criticism is I think this old gal deserves an SSD. Otherwise, great build!
Wow this is beautiful. Love the pictures next to the Enthoo Evolv
Dual channel ram and an overclock would help that 1600 out quite a bit. If your main concern is gaming, a more modern graphics card would help as well. All things considered, this looks great!
Honestly the only thing stopping me from going SFF is how expensive this case is. That, and I love my expansion cards. Beautiful build!
This looks great! The only thing bothering me is the USB cable from the AIO hanging across some of your RGB ram.
Looks great! I'd recommend buying an SSD for Windows though, at least a 120GB.
ME ME BIG BOY
Just saw your wallpaper after watching DBS episode 85 haha! Everything looks gorgeous!
A perfectly modest PC, dunno why it's bottom on top rated.
I'm just joking about its age
Your cable management is far better than my first build. I went with an 8350 as well (plus a gtx 970) and I'm still loving it after Ryzen's release.
