There's no smoke/burning smells. I don't overclock anything on my PC. I honestly think it could have been because I have made a weird habit of using ALT F4 to close stuff and it opens up this menu that has options to shut down and stuff and it may have responded to that a while after I did it.
The 980 Ti is faster than the RX 580. I'd contact the owner of the 980 Ti to see if they can test it out for you.
Everything seems good. I'd ask on the "Power Supplies" section of this forum to make sure it is good because a lot of power supplies are not 100% safe (despite reviews) so I'd make sure of that.
I use both depending on the game. Since I do not have a second monitor, if I'm playing a game where I have to look up stuff for (if I forget stuff or if I am new to it), I will use windowed, but on games that I understand and need focus for, I will use fullscreen. I'm not very sure why I do this.
The RAM should be compatible, its probably just defective.
I also heard that SSDs have a shorter lifespan than HDDs, which is concerning. Can you explain that to me?
It appears that there is a QLC version of the Sabrent Rocket 1TB drive that is $99. Should I get that one?
If I'm just going to be concerned about the PC booting up faster and games opening up quicker then should I just get the 660p?
I was initially deciding between the 600p (cheaper alternative, ~$82 on sale) and the Sabrent Rocket (more expensive, $120). Is the $40 difference worth it?
I would have to say your CPU is weak in this situation. I'd say that the RX 570 does not have to be upgraded if you want to play games on lower settings.
So should I not worry about it?
The D: drive seems to physically be on the SSHD along with C:, and it seems to be a partition or something (not really sure what it means). I uninstalled the program and the drive still exists. It has 449 MB total (6MB used, can't see what though), so I'm not very sure what to do with it.
Thank you! Do you think I would need to update the BIOS in order for anything to work? Do you have a tutorial to a link for cloning/reformatting the SSD/SSHD?
Also, when I installed something a while ago, it decided to make Local Disc (D:) (which does not physically exist, my only hard drive is Local Disc (C:)). Will this cause complication?
Also i’ve had this pc for almost 2 years
GTX 1060 6GB
1TB Hybrid HDD
The friend I mentioned has a GTX 1060 3GB instead.
No, and just my video drivers? One of my friends who has a very similar spec PC to mine was saying YouTube was stuttering for him.
I know, but finding ammo takes forever and is very luck based. Most of the time I won't even have a full clip.
The battle royale needs a LOT more ammo and more/easier to get weapons.
Christmas is my favorite holiday because I get to see my whole family, I get presents, and I just like the Christmas-y vibe (except once Christmas is over its just gone instantly so oof).
If you already have the GTX 1060 previously, I'd say this is a good start. Like what minininja0412 said, I would suggest getting 16GB of RAM.
I actually use DVI-D because there is no DisplayPort port on the monitor but thanks for the advice :)
Although I couldn’t join you to grind XP (because I’m slightly bored of Fortnite right now), I can confirm that for Drift and Ragnarok, you can level them up out of Season 5.
I heard that you don't have to preorder the Galaxy Note 9 to be able to do it, and also, the Galaxy skin is out on the Galaxy Note 9 and Tab S4 in the in game item shop from 8/24/18 to 12/31/18 so I have a lot of time.
I haven't, thanks! Haven't looked it up yet, but what fan settings would you recommend that would be a good balance between cooling (ideally under 80C) and noise? I have noticed that this summer, my room and only my room has been hotter and I think my PC is a contributing factor.
I’m thinking about figuring out how to lower the volume on the mic, and moving it closer to my mouth. Or, is there a way for me to bind a key on my keyboard to mute/unmute my mic? Corsair K55 by the way.
I heard it was because the way AT&T sets up the NAT or whatever. However, I am able to connect to my mom’s iPhone SE hotspot, which is also AT&T. What I did to get it work the first time was hope I would get a different error code, which I did (2110-2203 instead of 2110-2003).
You put an i5-8400 instead of the listed R5 2600.
A season on Fortnite lasts 70 days. Each Season there is a battle pass that has skins, pickaxes, gliders, loading screens, emotes, XP, and more. They do not intend to give a competitive advantage. However, if your daughter plays with friends who all have the Battle Pass, they will get an XP boost together + the current self XP boost. If your daughter spends "a fortune each season to step up faster and collect as much skins as possible," that means she is buying tiers (which has a new unlock, there are 100 this season). Buying tiers is not required however since there are challenges that can make the tier go up.

I don’t get wins often, I did have a random 3 win weekend recently. Also, I play with my friends often and they are pretty good (3-6 kills average, same with me) and they have a lot more wins in the same time frame... I need to play with them more often. Plus, I would get the benefit of bonus XP which is nice.
It seems a bit dark for Fortnite. To be honest, I would like for Season 5 to be more casual like Seasons 1-3 were. And also, the victory umbrella MUST be a beach umbrella or I’ll be mad. I’m Level 74 and I am pretty confident I’ll make it. Yesterday, there were 13 days left, now there are 14 days left, meaning we got 2 days somehow?
Don’t 100% take my word for it, but it looks like a great PC build. Send me a link to the completed build (when done) and upload pictures!
I’ll be able to fix the part list better with a pcpartpicker link, if you can’t give me the link can you fill this out?
He can stretch for $550. I am also going to be recommending a monitor that is $20 less (AOC 1080p, IPS) meaning that $20 more can be spent. If possible, include a new power supply unless if the included one isn't going to stop working/be a fire hazard with the GTX 1050. Also, I would like for him to have at least 6-8GB of RAM.
Yep, I am going to try to save Week 8+ for Double XP weekend (assuming it is happening since it happened in Season 3) so I can get a lot of levels. Good thing you get XP instead of Battle Stars when you get to Tier 100 compared to Season 3.
Yes, currently at the start of Level 64.
The power supply may be a fire hazard (knowing the B3 is), I HIGHLY recommend a Corsair CXM550 (2017).
The integrated GPU on the 2200G is a little bit less powerful than the RX 550, so you can get rid of it.
He is (probably) getting multiple gift cards on his birthday, so this should not be difficult to pay for now that I realize it. Also, I have been thinking about getting him the G305 instead, which is basically a wireless G PRO. I wanted to see if there were any cheaper options.
I do not know what to recommend since I’m not a “chair enthusiast” or anything even close lol. Basically, gaming chairs seem to be a marketing technique, but I bet there are still some really good ones. I do not know if the chairs have a good material or not, you would have to find that out from reviews on some gaming chairs.
I am going to be honest, I don’t think gaming chairs are worth it. The shape may be nice but the material on some may be hard. I’d rather have a nice leather office chair.
Looks great! You could get 1440p 60FPS High/Ultra settings in most games. The 1070 Ti overclocked is about a GTX 1080.
Is this your current PC right now? What is your budget to upgrade?
I make sure I'm not exposed from multiple angles when fighting from medium or long range by building on all sides. This doesn't seem to matter as much as when I'm in a shotgun battle.
The power supply in this is not professionally reviewed to my knowlegde, so I would stay away from it.
At least let us change it...
