Me thinks you did pretty good +1
1 dam pic that doesn't even show the whole rig ?!?!
Edit: Add a few more pics as I like the case and theme please :)
nice build. Really like where you mounted the d5. I got the same case but i used a universal fan mount in the front for the pump. Kind of wishing I had thought of thatmounting scheme so I could have ran a taller reservoir.
This is a beauty. Congrats on a future Feature!!!!
Glad to see these coming out in the wild! Great looking build but why not go aio for the 9900k?
How did I miss this? Great build!!
Good write up and an excellent build good sir!
Nicely done. A great little package that can more than pull its weight.
Go ahead..... take that upvote! Slick job and wonderful results.
Love the 202 builds on this site. Nice work and a wonderful gift.
dont think its a s4 is it? AFAIK it wont take full size GPU. Looks similar to a zaber sentry but the power button is near the bottom. I really like it though, gonna run over to SFF.net and see if I can identify this. BTW great looking build!
Seems like the case designer made a few then dropped the venture. A very beautiful case none the less.
It's a bit noisy when gaming by my standards for a desk build where I'm a few feet from it. Thermals overall are well considering the limited cooling compared to full size atx cases. Other than that, there really aren't any other negatives I can think off.
Thc C7 really isnt a good cooler for this case. Most people have better luck with Scythe Big Shurikens while my Zalman 8900 worked okay. Currently running with a Thermolab LP53 and a 6700k in an ML08, the twin brother to this case. Have you thought about delidding?
I recommend it now that i have tried it. Anyways good luck good sir!
Mad props to the bang for the buck build!
I actually got the delid from a guy named ac_gaming on eBay. Came out wonderful but I believe the most well known website would be siliconlottery.com .Going rates for delid are between $25-50 plus shipping. I checked out your build it's pretty slick. Did you install the i/o cover plate at back of mobo and case? I know it's ugly but I removed mine in another build with my zalman cooler and helped me before drop a few degrees at load.
1-Looking at the board on newegg, it looks like it will fit better than it does on my motherboard.
2- The usb header which will be blocked. there are extensions like this https://www.amazon.com/Low-Profile-Header-Extender-Cable/dp/B01N7DU5LC/ref=sr_1_16?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1504314892&sr=1-16&keywords=usb+3.0+header+motherboard which could help the situation. I forgot to mention I did not use the usb header in my build, but i have read in a few ssf sites about how these help with low profile coolers.
3- The cooler is wonderful for its size, according to a few sources I read at overclock.net and smallformfactor.net should best the C7 by a fair bit. However, there are probably better ones for this case due to the higher cooler clearance. Again this case is temporary for me and I got this cooler in preperation for my smaller case. I do know the scythe big shuriken and zalman cnps 8900 used to be 10 degrees higher than my current setup but I also have had this chip delidded since I used those coolers so it is not a fair comparison.
4- I believe getting your CPU delidded will be the biggest difference. I was sceptical at first, but a lot of people were swearing by it so I paid and shipped it off to be done since I didn't trust myself to do it. I honestly believe this is the biggest difference.
5- I just now put a temporarily mild OC at 4.4 for my CPU and ran the GTA V benchmark 3 times back to back maxed out in 3440p@100hz minus some AA. I did get 1 core up to 78C (ambient temp is 68F) so that is a pretty decent all things considered. I will post add a pic of the hwinfo sheet in a second.
Edit: Remember that 78C is with the 4.4 OC and running at default speed Im actually almost 10C cooler. I am downloading 3dmark so I will post firestrike benchmarks in a bit.
Always love reading peeps dream builds. Congrats good sir!
Thanks. I've been hooked on them for a while but there are some sacrifices going from humongous atx cases to this size. However I feel it is well worth it.
Always a fan of sff builds as well as custom cases. This checks both boxes!
this deserves way more points than it currently has!
What does a Loyal Agent One look like??? Well done good sir!
no problem lol. It is a world of difference. I actually have the ML08 now but still have the air 540 as well.
Love the looks of that case. Slick job bro.
The 480 isnt exactly a slouch, still plenty powerful. As for his cpu/ mobo..... not so sure. Either way I like the build.
Those GPU's make that case look small in the pics. Very nice build!
Excellent and drool worthy rig..... if only that headset wasn't there lol.
I want that monitor! Great build
These sff are top notch. Dumb questions but can the Qbx use sfx power supplies and if so would you recommend using them?
Nice build.... Brilliant title lol.
Nice and tight bro!
Thanks for the tip. I'm definitely going free sync or g sync. I don't get tearing often but I hate it with a passion when it shows up. But neither has ulmb. But I am also looking toward the future with this as well.
i don't think there is a big difference in the thermal take and this one. I just liked the style of the air series.lj
Too many words!!!!
That 1st power up on your first build is a wonderful feeling ain't it? Great job, bro!
Solid little budget build bro. I like it!
Love every inch of this!
Love the build and a great write up. I've rocked the 540 and now have an air 240 that I'll be posting soon. How do you like the monitor. I'm debating really hard between this and 21:9 1440p.
I think it really depends on how powerful a card you have in it and what cooler it has. My gpu was in the low to mid 80s with this case on new games with a high fan profile that made it noisy. The windowed version was a couple of degrees cooler. I have since sold this and built a new pc that I need to put into Pcpp. Anyways check out the rvz02 owners club at overclock.net. Lots of builds and many peeps to guide you.
Wasn't bad when I used it for driver CDs when I built it. But I didn't use it afterwards and sold it off on eBay when I decided that I still have a ps4 to play blu Rays with.
Mine wouldn't play blu Ray with included software. It wanted me to upgrade. I looked it up and realized I wasn't the only one. You can get a slot load player and a slim sata to sata adapter for cheaper than silver stone product. I was very disappointed.
And thus, Skynet is born. You have doomed humanity and I'm soo jelly!
Chuckie photo bomb!!! btw nice machine!
Actually have already done a new build with corsair air 240. But no I didn't mess with oc the cpu while I had this case. I liked it but ultimately decided that I was too limited with itx and wanted more upgrade paths.
