Thanks for the input. I guess it's not enough of a difference in performance to go and buy this while it's on sale then.

Do you have a good estimate for what wattage I'd need for my build? The original was estimated to use around 400W. I was thinking a little higher (550-650) would be good for upgrade headroom.

Hmm, I've heard some good things about evga, that might be worth looking into. Thanks!

Thanks again for the info on the Focus.

I had researched the compatibility note and apparently the extra 4 pin is not necessary unless I have more power hungry components, so I didn't think it would end up being an issue since I'm not over clocking.

Also, I completely forgot this until now. I am planning on getting Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order when it launches, so that's another thing I would need to consider with the gpu.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the input. I'm aiming for a board with onboard wifi, which is why I was leaning towards the msi board. I guess I also should have mentioned that the extra sata ssd will be a gift, so I don't need to make any extra room in the budget for that. Thanks for the tip about the issues with the Focus, I hadn't heard about that. Do you think the 580 will be good enough for the work load I had mentioned? I was planning on leaving some room there and eventually upgrading to a 1080 Ti or something.
